Services

Technical Oversight Across Critical Milestones

Each engagement is tailored to the client’s administrative framework and adopted building code. The scope can establish complete-submission standards, technical reviews, and reporting at each agreed inspection stage.

01

Application Intake and Plan Review

  • Complete-Submission Checklists: Drawing-control guidance and structured checklists help applicants provide complete, review-ready documents.
  • Written Code Reviews: Review applications against the adopted code and local bylaws, with missing information and code concerns set out in itemized written memos.
02

Construction-Stage Inspections

  • Critical-Stage Inspections: Scheduled site or field inspections review work before it is concealed where practical. Stages can include excavation and footings, underslab plumbing and radon rough-in, framing, rough-in services, exterior water management and weather barriers, insulation, and final building completion.
  • Field Reporting: Record code deficiencies and general quality observations separately, supported by structured notes and photo documentation.
03

Trade and Professional Documentation

  • Assurance & Declaration Tracking: Review required plumbing and mechanical declarations, testing records, engineering Letters of Assurance, and field-review logs.

Electrical permits and inspections remain with Technical Safety BC and the licensed electrical contractor.

04

Deficiency Follow-Up and Close-Out

  • Tracking to Resolution: Document outstanding items, conduct scheduled follow-up inspections, and coordinate applicable close-out records.
  • Occupancy Recommendations: Provide the client authority with a technical recommendation on occupancy readiness once agreed items are resolved.

An Extension of Your Building Department

We handle technical evaluations—from initial plan checks to milestone site or field inspections—giving local administrators and community leadership documentation to support project decisions.

Approach

From Submission to Occupancy

01

Establish the Framework

Confirm the adopted code edition, intake requirements, communication routes, responsible registered professionals, and inspection milestones.

02

Review & Reconcile

Provide plan examination comments, technical interpretation memos, and written deficiency reports. Assess revised documents before site work.

03

Inspect & Report

Conduct milestone site or field inspections, document observations, track resolved items, and deliver agreed close-out records and recommendations.
